Welcome to ChinaConnectU – 宝库山教育信息网!
Please take this tour to find out what ChinaConnectU has to offer!
宝库山教育信息网(ChinaConnectU.com) is an educational platform for everybody who is interested in or teaching about China. It provides educators with the tools, materials, and support they need, and prepares students and professionals for a global future. ChinaConnectU includes the entire Berkshire Encyclopedia of China, as well as lesson plans, videos with related articles and vocabulary worksheets, book and movie reviews, proverbs and chengyu, interviews, newsfeeds, and much more.
ChinaConnectU also offers resources for Hanban-sponsored and other teachers from China, and for foreign-language department heads and school administrators who are introducing Chinese for the first time.
The entire Berkshire Encyclopedia of China is available on ChinaConnectU, including full-color images, further reading sections, and downloadable PDFs.
We are regularly adding study questions and vocabulary lists to accompany all 800+ articles. The further reading sections and the newsfeeds accompanying the articles provide students with new avenues for research.
New articles will be added regularly, drawing on Berkshire Publishing Group publications, including This Is China: The First 5000 Years, Education in China, and Internet in China.
Lessons can be created using ChinaConnectU “centers” such as the Chinese Sports Center.
Show the video, assign chapters for homework, and use the study guides for classroom discussion. The supplemental materials are designed for high school and university classrooms, but can easily be adjusted for use in K-12 or adult education. Other “centers” include the Activity Center (with recipes, posters, maps, and games) and the Image/Video Library (organized according to topic, allowing you to easily locate visual materials).
Lessons and class projects can also be developed around videos and activities. There is a wide range of visual material that teachers are free to use in their own classroom presentations.
Similar to our articles, we add vocabulary, discussion questions, and scripts to the videos. The videos range from historical footage to contemporary snapshots of daily life in Beijing, and include topics such as sports, festivals and holidays, and learning Chinese. We also feature interviews with authors, teachers, and other experts in the field.
ChinaConnectU offers study guides to accompany Berkshire’s publications on China, including This Is China, China Gold, and the individual articles from the Berkshire Encyclopedia of China.
In addition, we feature lesson plans, including videos, PowerPoint presentations, vocabulary lists, and exercises (in downloadable PDF format), created both in-house and submitted by teachers from all over the world. We ensure the highest quality through a strict editorial process, supported by our contributing editors, who are experts in the field of Chinese education.
面对面(FaceToFace) is ChinaConnectU’s staff blog. Here, we share our stories about interesting content on ChinaConnectU, China related news items that have caught our eye, and our experiences with and in China. It is also a space where ChinaConnectU members can connect and share their thoughts, ideas, and recommendations.
