Here at ChinaConnectU we’re committed to finding better ways to learn Chinese and to identifying the systems, methods, and resources that will work best for different students – students of all ages, and students whose goals and expectations are different. We ourselves are a mixed group in terms of Chinese language skills, but all of us want to improve our ability to speak Chinese. Everyone on the ChinaConnectU team is a language-tools tester (we like to refer to ourselves as guinea pigs) and you’ll find our stories at the FaceToFace blog.
If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart. Nelson Mandela, b. 1918
Our vocabulary lists are ordered alphabetically according to pinyin, as well as thematically. We are also working very hard to get extensive HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) vocabulary lists up.
Proverbs (chéngyǔ 成语) are an important and characteristic feature of Chinese. We are proud to feature an ever-growing collection of proverbs, provided by our consulting editor Haiwang Yuan.
